Walter Cronkite was always tagged as The Most Trusted Man in America. With this reputation, the broadcast journalist surely reached great heights in his career, and he managed to amass a net worth of $20 million before his passing in 2009. He was the prominent anchorman for CBS Evening News for two decades, specifically from 1962 to 1981.

One must give high honor and credit to Cronkite for he was responsible for reporting some of the most significant events in history. Some of these include the bombings in World War II, the assassinations of former American President John F. Kennedy, the death of Martin Luther King Jr., the Vietnam War, and the Nuremberg trials. He is also the only recipient of a Moon-rock award outside NASA for covering the U.S. Space program during his time.
